About Ohana
This beautiful spotty girl is OHANA, thought to be a Dalmation x Bull Arab. She was born on 11 November 2021 and weighs 23 kgs, so is very much a medium-sized dog.
"Ohana" is the Hawaiian word for "family", which is very apt because this sweet girl would make the very best family dog.
She loves humans and is very approachable. A quick pat and a sniff of the hand and Ohana is your best friend.
Playful and affectionate, she's also great with kids, although in full flight in the backyard, she's probably a little too exuberant for the very young. She's still just a pup herself.
She is completed unphased by cats and recently spent the night with a carer who has eight moggies! Ohana paid no attention to them at all.
She is also super comfortable with dogs of all shapes and sizes. The same cat-loving carer has a number of dogs, ranging from a big labradoodle down to a tiny chihuahua. Ohana got on with them all.
In the 24 hours she spent in that home, she did not bark once - not at the cats or the other dogs, or at people wandering by. There was not a sound out of her.
Highly affectionate, she loves cuddles with humans and, given the chance, will climb onto your lap for a snuggle.
Intelligent and keen to please, Ohana is learning her basic commands, walks well on a lead and is house-trained. She loves riding in the car.
On a recent visit to the vet, she impressed with her willingness to obey to her handlers, despite her desperation to say hello to all the dogs in the waiting room. She cooperated beautifully with the vet and was given a "gold star" for patience and good behaviour. Check out the photo of her having a snooze in the treatment room.
If you are interested in meeting Ohana, please complete the online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and ensure that you include photos of your yard and fencing.

She lives in Warwick, Queensland and is available for interstate adoption. A virtual meet and greet may be offered to approved applicants.
Medical notes
Ohana tested negative for heartworm on 2 September 2022.
