About Uncle Fester
Permanent foster home needed!
Hey hey, it's Uncle Fester! If you follow us on social media, you will recognize this guy. He's been in our care for 8 months now! He was a bit of a super star when he first came in but he's been pretty quiet for a while.
Here's the re-cap - Fester came in back in January 2022 (yep, that's 8 months ago... we'll let that sink in!)
He was caught in a trap. Emaciated and with a huge, burst abscess on his neck that was grotesquely infected. His teeth rotten, most of them already missing and the others all had to be removed to leave him as Mr Gummy.
At first, he was quite tolerant of handling. We thought he was a friendly boy who was very very sick and sore.
He absolutely was sick and sore ... but as he gained strength, he also gained his attitude 😅 Which is pretty much summed up by this photo.
He's a grump. A crankypants. A hiss-pot. Angry man. These are all nicknames he has received!
Uncle Fester is over 10 years old. Exactly how old, we're not sure.
Life hasn't been easy for this guy and we want to give him the chance to live out his days somewhere.
It's a big ask. Even after 8 months, he hates me. He wants to be left alone to snooze and laze around and nothing else.
He wants his personal space.
He is very comfortable with other cats and was actually paired up with an elderly female who came into care but she had complex medical issues and sadly had to be put to sleep.
But he's fine with other cats getting close and friendly with him - just not people!
Uncle Fester has a chronically runny nose. He may need rounds of antibiotics on occasion - he takes them well in his food so no risk of injury to anyone!
He needs an indoor only home where he will be left alone to exist and nothing more.
He will be a forever foster, so SAFE will cover costs associated with any veterinary needs.
Uncle Fester doesn't make himself easy to love, yet we love him anyway and want to give him the best.
Please get in touch if you think you can accommodate this grumpy faced fellow.
