Korbin

Korbin has been acing his time at Camp Foster Care and has earned himself a few badges ("mr social", "super snuggler", "best bed sharer", "gentle with small friends" and "brave when alone") and is ready for his forever home.

A must have for Korbin is a confident large breed doggy sibling as he thrives in the company of his foster brother - a mastiff, and sister - a greyhound. And of course this cutie needs people who will show him all the love and nurturing he deserves.

Korbin has also been living with a resident puss-cat and is unphased to the point of allowing his cat friend to groom his head and ears. In his previous pet life Korbin also lived with a feline and provided slow and monitored introductions, Korbin will likely live well with a calm, older indoor-only cat.

Korbin’s ideal home will also have space for him to explore and lots of walks, as he gets crazy excited when he realises its walk time. Unfortunately for Korbin, his adventures in grassy knolls has led to the discovery of some contact allergies which can result in slightly flaky and red feet which is treated with antibiotics and allergy cream.

Korbin is mostly a legend on lead, although he can become a wee bit overstimulated when he sees other dogs - purely out of excitement. His ears will perk up and he may pull forward, particularly if the other dog is across the street and he’s in a new area.

He is very social with all other breeds of dogs (big and small) and has been very friendly with those he has met; lots of tail wags and never a negative encounter!

Korbin is very food motivated and loves all things snacks. He will (of course) take advantage of an opportunity to counter surf if something delicious is left out. He has the tendency to linger by your side in the kitchen when you cook but with the persistence and consistency of his foster carers showing him his bed, he has shown great improvement. He is also very responsive to his name and is working on ‘wait’ when coming inside.

In the early days, Korbin could be protective over his food bowl and high reward treats but by eating all his meals separately, so he has his own space, he has come to realise he doesn’t have to compete for food.
