About Archie
Meet Archie, our 6 month old Cavoodle puppy, now ready for his new home.
Everyone knows the Cavoodle breed now, they are a mix of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and a Poodle. The cavoodle is a lively and very affectionate companion - they enjoy being part of the family unit and love to participate in the activities of the day. Cavoodles have a very gently nature and can make wonderful companions for children. They can be quite vocal and can bark when visitors arrive, like most dogs! However, they are not aggressive. The cavoodle is an intelligent dog that thrives with regular training and human interaction. They are NOT suited to being left alone at home for long periods during the day. They need daily walks, regular trips to your local dog park will help keep your cavoodle's energy levels under control., They should enjoy socialising with other dogs and are easily trained.
Cavoodles usually do not shed and are often recommended for allergic people. Their coats do take a great deal of care though, generally requiring professional grooming (every 6 weeks) as well as regular combing and brushing at home. Their ears need frequent cleaning or they may become infected, daily teeth brushing is recommended, but not every dog tolerates it, unless commenced at a very early age. Eyes also need special attention and cleaning to prevent a build up eye discharge and tear staining.
If you want to own a Cavoodle, you need to be prepared for all the extra chores that come along with the responsibility of owning a pet.
Archie will require good, secure fencing and gates (preferably colourbond) to keep him safe and secure. This breed is highly sought after still and thefts are not uncommon. Archie would also benefit from having another dog to play with.
Archie comes de-sexed, fully vaccinated, wormed and heartworm protection.
He will make a wonderful family pet and it should be remembered that a dog is for life - you need to be prepared to love and care for him for the next 12-14 years.
Applications to adopt Archie are now being accepted. Please note that this puppy is in foster care in Kempsey NSW and his new owner must be prepared to travel there to pick him up.

The first step is to email Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. for assessment regarding prospective ownership and pet suitability.
Adoption Application forms must be completed.
A property inspection will be carried out on properties in the Port Macquarie area so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you’ve selected. Midcoast Dog Rescue Inc. is trying to expand its foster carer network so that we can help more dogs in need. This is a very rewarding experience and suits a variety of people. Some people, for whatever reason, are unable to make a permanent commitment to a dog, a commitment which can last for up to 15 years. Others use the fostering experience as an interim measure before committing to permanently owning a dog. If you think you could be interested in becoming a foster carer, either on a long-term or a short-term basis, and would like more information please contact Nigel on 6584 4992 or Wendy on 6584 7027.
