About Muff ~ 10yr Old Maltese X(On trial 10/9/22)
Muff is a loving and handsome boy looking for his forever home. Muff is a Maltese x who has just turned the big 10 in August this year. Muff loves to be in the company of his foster Mum and enjoys sitting close by and being her shadow around the home. Muff enjoys being both indoors and outdoors. Muff is toilet trained.
Muff is currently living with two small dog foster brothers. Muff was a bit shy and unsure at first but now gets along really well with his foster brothers. Muff isn’t much of a playful dog with other dogs just enjoys being in their company. Muff is untested with cats however he is placid so a proper slow introduction may work with Muff.
Muff has been enjoying sleeping in the bed with foster Mum. Muff can be startled easy when asleep and needs a slow gentle hand if Muff needs to be moved or woken up.
Muff is a bit silly and thinks he is half cat sometimes. Muff loves to rub up against people and the couch. Muff also likes to be by his foster Mum’s side resting on the desk on his blanket as she works from home. Muff does likes to hop up on furniture like a cat if he can. Muff is learning not to do this.
Muff has started to show his playful side by rolling around on his bed and the couch. Muff’s favourite toy is currently a hair scrunchie.
Muff is active for his age. Muff is very good on lead walks and is unbothered by dogs/others walking by. Muff also enjoys enclosed off leash areas to run around and sniff.
Muff has had some health concerns. Muff came into care with a hernia on the side of his bottom. This meant that Muff’s bowel movements weren’t travelling through the normal channels which means his stool was getting stuck and causing painful constipation for Muff. Muff has now had a hernia repair and is doing really well. Muff’s stools however need to be soft to ensure that the hernia repair does not break by Muff straining/being constipated.
For Muff’s stool to be soft Muffs food needs to be a mix of wet food (not quality brands as they can cause the stool to harden), milk, pumpkin, psyllium husks/bran (can be found at grocery shops) and small amounts of crushed dry food all mixed together.
Muff also has a belly button hernia but the vet has assured that this does not affect Muff at all, just a bump on his belly for his belly button.
Muff can be really excited when he sees or smells food and does jump up. Muff is learning not to do this, Muff hasn’t mastered ‘sit’ yet but knows the word ‘dinner’.
For more information on Muff, please contact his foster carer on their email drnfostercareadoptions@gmail.com. Muff is in foster care in Kurri Kurri, NSW and is not available for adoption interstate.
Muff’s adoption fee is $400 which includes all up to date vet work. He is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Muff please fill out the adoption application form herehttps://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
