Priya is a clever, loyal, gentle souled lady, who loves nothing more than pleasing her humans and cuddling on the couch. Her ideal family would be inclusive, gentle, and eager for doggy cuddles! Priya wants nothing more than to be involved in whatever you’re doing- she just loves to be loved!
Her motto is “there is ALWAYS time for cuddles!”. Her foster carers describe her love for cuddles as “desperate and hilariously ridiculous”. Although her favourite time is being around people, she is fine to be home on her own for a few hours. Priya has shown no signs of anxiety or destructive behaviour while alone.
She has an eagerness to learn and is motivated by treats and positive rewards. Whilst training in foster care, she has made impressive progress with her confidence outside of the house, lead walking and learning to keep her cool when she feels overstimulated by noises, bikes, dogs etc -she is quite responsive.

Priya will need ongoing training to work on impulse control and reactiveness when seeing other dogs. She just needs someone to reassure her that the outside world isn’t such a scary place. She is currently living with another female dog who has been showing her the ropes, but she gets anxious and overstimulated when she sees or hears other dogs on walks. For this reason, Priya’s ideal home would be a calm environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city. Priya would like all of your attention, so she is looking for a home where she is the only dog. Priya only jumps for hugs (she gently holds your waist) but has been around a 3-year-old child who she was gentle and uninterested with. Priya is not a high energy dog but does really enjoy her walks and outdoor training. Since being in foster care, she has learnt that toys aren’t scary and are actually really fun. She’s often found throwing around a toy and playing happily on her own.
