Jed is a gorgeous boy who has been through so much in such a short amount of time. Jed came to us in a terrible state and required two major abdominal surgeries to save his life!
Jed has since made a full recovery and is now on the search to find his perfect forever home.
Jed is a sweet affectionate boy who loves a cuddle. He is crate trained and has been sleeping both in and outside whist being in our care.
Jed is very food motivated and eager to please, which makes training easy!
He has learnt basic commands, like sit, back and to wait for his food. He still hasn’t learnt how to walk nicely on the lead. He gets overexcited when out on an adventure, so we’ve trained him to wear a head halti so going on walks is enjoyable for both you and him.
We don’t believe Jed has had much life experience before coming into our care. In high stimulating situations, seeing dogs on walks, lots of people down the street etc, he can become overwhelmed, though he does recover quickly.
Jed needs someone who is prepared to continue his training so he can enjoy everything that life has to offer.
Jed is good with cats and is good with most dogs, though he needs a bit of time to get to know them before he will interact nicely. He is currently in care with 3 other dogs and is perfectly fine, he just needs time, training and to continue to learn social skills with the help of his humans.
Toilet training is coming along nicely, he is still having the occasional accident, though with continued training, this will improve.
Given the emaciated state Jed was in when he came into our care, he doesn’t like other dogs going near his food. This may be something he grows out of with time, training and regular meals, though there is no way to know if this will be life long or not. His new family will have to be committed to separating him from other animals at meal times so not to encourage this behaviour. He can also be a little too enthusiastic when getting treats, though he is learning ‘gentle’.
Jed loves a cuddle, especially if he can be on your lap, sunning himself on the lawn and playing with his toys and foster friends.
Jed has been fine on his own or with another doggy companion and has not been destructive at all whilst in our care.
Jed is an absolute pleasure to have around. He has been through so much yet he continues to love everyone he meets and win everyone over with his big brown eyes. With ongoing training, he will be an amazing addition to any family looking for a small - medium sized pooch to love.

Medical notes
Jed has had a section of his intestines removed and plicated. Because of this, he cannot have bones, dense chewy sticks or swallow anything too big. If he does, it might get stuck and unfortunately, given what he has already been through, further abdominal surgery may not be an option.
