About Connie and Phillip 🧡🧡
LOOKING FOR A PALLIATIVE CARER OR ADOPTER DUE TO THE CURRENT CARERS MOVING OVERSEAS IN JULY.
Sometimes, we find the cats so late that all we can do is offer them wonderful final years.
This is the case with Phillip. He was born with a heart condition in a cat colony, and the rough start in life didn’t help. He is just two years old, but the cardiologist has given him 12 months. He might decline in six months, or he might beat the odds and live another three years– we don’t know. But we want to make that time count.
An outsider wouldn’t know that Philip is terminally ill. He looks so well and acts like any happy ginger boy, thriving after his time in foster care and receiving the medical attention he needs. He takes daily medication, which he happily eats in his food.
He is affectionate, chirpy, loves gentle pats and following his carers around, his feline friends and most of all, Connie, his partner in this life.
We know that Connie was, at some stage, a trap-neuter-return cat that ended up in the wrong hands and was living in a cage in a factory in the inner north of Melbourne.
She was so frightened that she would groom herself to calm herself down, resulting in bald patches. As a result, she is a little shy but lets her trusted humans pat her and feed her treats when she feels comfortable and meet any visitors who come to the house. She has so much potential to blossom even more.
Connie and Phillip have progressed through foster care, starting from an outdoor enclosure where they first met and then into a home.
Their foster carers adore them. They have a unique way of filling hearts and homes with love. They love other cats and would likely get along with dogs. They are not threatened by children but cannot be picked up.
We are looking for a quiet foster or adoptive home that offers Phillip and Connie a corner in their house for what Phillip has left. They are so bonded that they don’t ask but give a lot.
Do you have a big heart and want to do a favour that cannot be repaid in this life? Then consider fostering or adopting these two souls.
You can apply to foster, foster-to-adopt, or adopt this gorgeous pair.
