About Stevie
Nearly 10 weeks old.
Stevie came into care with her 6 litter mates when they were just 6 weeks old.
Stevie is a mixed breed puppy. potentially a cattle dog mix.
Stevie entered care as a very timid/scared little puppy. Over time she has come out of her shell -somewhat. This is due to gentle exposure and managing opening up his world in a safe controlled manner.
Stevie takes a lot of his confidence from her fellow foster dogs. When she is introduced to new experiences or people outside of her co girt zone she can be quite scared/timid. This is something his new family will have to work on in a very sensible manner.
Stevie will require ongoing appropriate positive exposure. And will benefit from attending puppy school.
Stevie has had 2 vaccinations and will require her final booster when she reaches 16 weeks.
Stevie would do well in a household with a good natured male adult dog, but management will be in order as Stevie likes to get in the faces of other dogs and can be quite relentless if the household dog doesn’t set good boundaries.
Stevie will not suit a home with an elderly dog. Nor with young children.
Stevie will require a family who are willing and able to continue her socialisation, learn about how to do so, and also continue her life long training and enrichment needs.
Stevie is crate trained and will happily sleep in her crate overnight. SHe is also familiar with a puppy pen, and happily enjoys her own space when it’s needed.
House/toilet training is coming along. She is still very young, so her adoptive family will need to keep up her outside breaks and reward appropriate toileting.
Stevie loves a good game of tug and her squeaky plush toys. Playing with her with these toys and techniques will be a terrific bonding experience and also release a lot of puppy energy!
All in all, Stevie will make a terrific dog to anyone that’s willing to put the time in. She is very loving, food motivated - which in turn makes her a very trainable little pup with the right influence.
