About Matilda
Hi! I'm Matilda and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR MATILDA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/fAcQECim2V4kVFkP7
NOTE: You are unable to meet Matilda until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Matilda in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• I can be a bit dominant with dogs smaller than me, so it's best I go to a home with a dog my size or bigger
• I appeared scared of cats when meeting them at the shelter however once my confidence around them grows I might be more inquisitive. If going to a home with a cat they must be dog savvy and we must be introduced slowly.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• I have previously lived with kids of all ages and love them.
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Rabbits/Guinea Pigs or Chickens/Ducks as I may find them fun to chase
My best features:
• Very playful
• Wiggle butt
• I have had some basic obedience training and am a generally well-mannered dog
• I LOVE attention and having snuggles with my humans
• Happy to hang out with other friendly dogs
• Social butterfly
• I LOVE toys
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I can be a bit bouncy -training should stop this
• I can be a little bit stong on the lead sometimes - training and walking me in a halti or harness may stop this
• I may show signs of anxiety when I'm left alone in the backyard and may become vocal. Leaving me some enrichment toys/treats may help this.
- I dont like whipper snippers or mowers so a family that will keep me inside while this is happening is a must.
