About Hoops
Hello from Hoops!
Hoops is a beautiful and unique- two and a half year old- double merle 'pick&mix' breed dog. She has the biggest heart and a world of love to give to a family in Victoria, looking for a big goofy velcro dog.
Hoops main aim is to do her very best to make you proud! She excels at learning new tricks quickly, she picks up activities and puzzles fast as a flash, and finishes in record time. She loves to learn, she loves to use her big smart brain, and above all; she loves to please her people.
Hoops loves all humans. Big and small. She loves enthusiastically (sometimes a little too enthusiastically) with her whole heart, body, and soul! She can be loud and demanding- she takes it upon herself to let you know when it's time for her dinner, when she needs to go to the toilet, and when you absolutely must play with her- right this instant! Hoops grew up in a home where her strong vocal opinion was effective for getting her own way. So it's important that she goes to a family that understands: although her shouting and growling isn't aggressive, it's also not polite. She must behave and respect boundaries. Which she does, when firmly asked to settle or directed to her mat.
When Hoops first came into care, she was very reactive to other dogs. This was due to a lack of socialisation as a puppy, and something her foster family has, and is still working on diligently. Over the two years she has been in care, although there has been a huge improvement, we don't think she would suit a household that regularly socialises with other dogs. That being said, she does live with a very placid foster sister. So under perfect circumstances, she may find her forever home with another dog, after a very slow introduction. She has lived with cats, both in her first home and two subsequent foster homes, but has spent the last year in a cat free house; so will need to be slowly introduced once she is able to settle inside the home.
As stated before Hoops loves puzzles and activities- because of her reactivity and her predisposition for hip dysplasia and canine cruciates disease, Hoops main source of exertion is through mental enrichment. She has a spectacular nose for hide and seek, with both treats and people, she has excelled at nosework classes, is a master at all her puzzles, and as for getting physical; she is a gun at tug! Her foster family do try to avoid any activity with high impact or explosive movements, such as: jumping, or launching herself after a tennis ball. But Hoops is a big goofy girl who gets the zoomies, wrestles on the floor, and loves to dance in the living room.
Hoops perfect family would be people who are confident handling a large breed, with time to engage with her, to play with her, and to be her rock when she's unsure and confused. In return they will be receiving a gorgeous, whip smart, angel, with a heart of gold and a propensity to make you laugh.
Last word from foster carer:
Hoops is such a kind and loving dog to all people that come into our home. She will be missed when she finds her forever family.

Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
