About Chief
Chief is a spunky two-year-old Kelpie boy who is affectionate, inquisitive and a good listener. He is a social dog who bonds quickly with people, and is eager to please.
Since arriving in care, Chief has learnt basic obedience very quickly. He walks with confidence on a loose lead and travels well in the car. Chief shows manners around food and is very gentle when taking treats. He is developing his inside manners quickly in care, staying on his mat even when distractions are around. Chief is an excellent learner - if you want a dog to hone your training skills in obedience, agility or the like, Chief is the dog for you!
Chief is keen to get to know other dogs and plays very well with them. He would benefit from having an active doggy friend at home. Chief sleeps through the night without issue. He likes to stay close to the house and will happily chill out nearby his people when opportunity arises. Chief has started crate training.
Chief settled quickly in foster care on a farm. He has shown some promise as a worker but Chief will need to build his confidence around livestock alongside a knowledgeable handler who is willing to put the time into him. Chief can jump into the buggy / ute and has good recall. He tends to be OK around cats but has not been tested with chickens.
As he is still learning personal space, Chief would be best for a family with older children. He would make a great mate for someone on rural property, small acreage, or quiet non-built up suburbia. Ongoing training is a must to bring out the best in this young man.

Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
