About Billie
Hi my name is Billie and the rescue says I’m the winner of the tongue out Tuesday award hands down!
I am a British Bulldog and I am 2 years and 10 months old and an absolute sweetheart.
So my foster mum says I have to advise you whilst I am the most adorable, cheekiest, silliest and loving girl you will meet.
I came into care about 5 months ago with some medical issues – I have renal failure.
Now please give me a chance and keep reading as my foster mum can explain it.
Billie has grade 2 renal failure – She is on a special diet of Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Renal Dog Dry Food and sometimes she also has the wet renal food. (Billie is happy to eat this and while she will give you puppy dog sad eyes sometimes for other food if you stick with this diet she is fine).
Billie has also had an eye removed due to complications from her Renal issues (when she first came into care) however this has now made it that she has sniper vision when she wants too (other times she has typical bulldog vision!)
So it’s me again – Billie….
So I think the best way to describe me is to explain to you my day
7.00 am – wake up
7.20 am – have my breakfast – I’m a bit more of a grazer then an all in one mouthful type of girl.
7.30 am – I will bounce around and want to have a small play and go outside and sniff a few things
7.45 am - 8.30 am I will follow you around just keeping you company while you get ready for work or do any housework that you need to do and then back in bed (if I can it will be a human’s bed) or if not (sigh) I will sleep in a doggy bed usually in the office with my foster mum while she works.
10.30 am – get up go outside and do my lady business
10.35 am – back in bed (yep I’ll give it a go again trying to sleep in a human’s bed) or if not (sigh) I will sleep in a doggy bed.
12.30 am – mum stops for a lunch break – so we go out and I have a bit of a graze of my lunch and generally just keep mum company again.
1.00 pm - back in bed (still trying!!) Or if not (sigh) I will sleep in a doggy bed.
3.30 pm – get up go outside and do my lady business
5.00 pm – mum finishes work so that means it’s time for me to get up and accompany her out to the kitchen to help her with dinner. She says I’m an awesome helper because I love to sit either on her feet / behind her feet or right in front of the oven – especially if it’s on!
8.30 pm – is my normal bed time – I will often try and put myself to sleep but that’s simply because if I sneak up on mum’s bed she may not notice for a bit and I get that extra special snooze.
Now you probably think that I sound like a really boring girl I promise I’m not – I get into these crazy moods where I do zoomies and twirls and wiggle my butt so fast my mum is worried I’m going to throw my back out and in that time I also love a good cuddle with my humans.
On the weekends I’m a bit more of a party girl but that’s just because mum is not stuck at her desk working.
I am happy to be with you outside while you do your chores and do bbqs and things – I’m also keen to go in the car with you and go on outings and I’m even good for walks just sometimes when I’m done I have been known to plant my bum and that’s it we are not going any further.
I am great with kids – I love love love them
I’m also good with the other dogs that my foster mum has here but I do use my weight to push in sometimes when someone else is getting a cuddle – hee hee – that bulldog weight comes in handy just saying!
Oh yeah so while I am an absolutely loving fun girl I cannot and I repeat cannot live with cats or chickens or birds (sorry about that)
So while I don’t have any separation anxiety or anything like that I do love to be with my humans – if you did work 8 hrs a day and I was home alone, I would definitely take advantage of that and probably take over your bed but also when you got home I would be soooo excited to see you I would probably nearly jump out of my fur!
Please don’t let my renal failure status put you off – I promise I am sooo worth it and will give you a lot of love for as many years as possible.
