About Fletcher
MEET FLETCHER!
Fletcher is approximately 7 years young. He is desexed, microchipped, vaccinated x2 and ready for his forever home.
Fletcher is FIV+ but please dont let this deter you! He can still live a long, healthy and happy full life to the same elderly age as FIV- cats, he just needs to be kept indoors (for other cats protection also) and ensure he is seen too by a veterinarian if he does exhibit any symptoms of illness. Fletcher can also safely live with other cats that are vaccinated against FIV! We are happy to provide more information if you need if you are considering adopting Fletcher.
*FIV FACT SHEET FOR YOUR INFORMATION*
FIV is a feline-only virus that cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs. Cats who test positive for FIV can live for many years without serious symptoms.
A positive FIV test result IS NOT a death sentence. We highly recommend you checking out this page and having a good read if you need to know more information regarding the FIV diagnosis https://www.alleycat.org/resources/feline-immunodeficiency-virus-fiv/#:~:text=Quick%20Facts%3A&text=FIV%20is%20a%20feline%2Donly,bite%20from%20an%20infected%20cat
Fletcher is a BIG SMOOCH! He is welcoming, confident and relaxed with anyone who comes into his home! He will happily get pats and smooches off anyone who is willing. He would have no trouble settling into most homes as long as there's lots of love to give! Fletcher would make a wonderful companion to someone younger or older that needs some love and company, a real best friend for life.
He has experience with dogs in foster care and was happy to live with him so he may be okay sharing a home with a dog-friendly cat.
Fletcher is INDOOR ONLY for his protection and the protection of neighbourhood cats that are not vaccinated against FIV.
Medical notes
Fletcher is entering his senior years and as such we highly recommend feeding him a premium quality senior diet such as royal canin or hills science diet.
Fletcher is FIV+

Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
