About Jemima
Dear little Jemima was born into an indigenous family home in a small community in the western dessert region of Central Australia. She grew up there with her four siblings till the age of 8 weeks, when her owner gave her over to be raised up and rehomed, since she was leaving the community for a while. In her birth home she mixed with small and bigger children, adults and old people, and lots of family dogs.
Since coming into care Jemima has proved to be the most delightful little girl to care for. She has a lovely calm and gentle nature, and sometimes gets hurt feelings when the other pups are too rough. When a pair of smaller pups joined the group, she was one of the two original puppies who were immediately accepting and friendly to the newcomers. She loves a cuddle and an afternoon nap on the human bed, but also sleeps happily in the dog beds, either with a big dog or in a pile with the other pups.
We can see Jemima thriving in a range of environments. While temperamentally suited to being a family dog, she would also be a great companion for an active retiree.
Jemima is currently in care in Central Australia and will be ready to travel mid-September, by which time she will be 4 months old. She will travel by plane to SA. Her fare is included in her adoption fee.
Medical notes
Prior to travel Jemima will have completed her primary course of vaccinations, and have been tested for the full panel of tick- borne diseases prevalent in the Territory. If treatment is needed we will provide this.
