About Petal
Oh my goodness! It's finally you! The Hooman I have been told about. The one who will give me a forever home!
I have so much to tell you, lets start from the beginning...
I arrived into care as a stray as I lost my way and could not be reunited with my family . The staff have been working patiently with me during my stay and have taught me how to trust humans - There's still much for me to learn!
I will need a home that is experienced with kitty's like myself who require a little bit more time to settle into new environments.. I may not be one of those lap cats at first, however I do appreciate a simple pat or chin scratch - as long as they are on my terms of course. How do you know if I'm feeling affectionate you ask? Simple. Show me a lightly closed hand or an extended finger and I'll bump it softly. That's me saying yes to a few gentle pats!
The staff will brief you on all of the finer details but to set me up for success in the home I will need a few things:
- My cat carrier is my safe haven so this will need to be present in my surroundings at all times.
- A soft igloo style bed for baking in the sun
- Some fun toys for when I am in a playful mood
- Lots of tuna, chicken and even some of those tasty cat treats will do just fine! Use these to encourage me to approach you and reward me with this for any positive behaviour. I am a foodie through and through so the way to my heart will certainly be through my stomach.
- Lots of places for me to reach vertical heights (A tall cat scratcher is a must!) I LOVE to explore my territory once comfortable.
- travel and moving to a new environment can make me feel unsettled, I'll need a patient owner who can understand that consistency & predictable routines will benefit me best.
Phew...Just about time for another cat nap! I'll leave the rest to my pals at the shelter to discuss, in the meantime I'll be snoozing away here at the shelter.
Lots of love,
Petal
xx
