We have set Bears adoption fee in order for his new family to factor in some assistance with training to help him become the bestest buy he can be
Bear loves to be near his humans and loves to play. As soon as he sees his foster humans, he whines and gets excited anticipating interaction. He loves pats but can get quite excited, jump, paw and mouth when playful. When he gets over excited, giving him a chewy toy helps him to focus his mouthiness on. When he gets enough exercise and play, he calm down and will rest or nap.
As soon as anyone goes to him, he gets very excited, wagging his tail, jumping up and running around. He wants someone to zoom around and play with anything he can bite, chew, dig or throw around. When he runs, he has the speed and agility of a greyhound. He is very strong and needs a loving but firm human who can train him and keep him active.
OBEDIENCE
Bear loves to be with humans and is very intelligent and should be quick to pick up what is required of him. He is still a pup and requires training to mind his manners and interact with others. He does know to ‘sit’ when instructed to, although sometimes he can forget or get too distracted to listen.
ENRICHMENT
Bear likes to play and barks when he is interacting with humans and other dogs. He also likes to talk, and whinge, telling his humans off when they do not come out to play. He will need stimulation when alone for long periods, such as chewing on bones or toys. If left for too long, he can get bored and create his own entertainment as he is still quite young and loves to explore and chew. He gets super excited with company.
He is fairly well behaved on the lead and loves going on walks and exploring the neighbourhood. He will stop when instructed to and recall on command. However, this can be hard for him if he sees other dogs and/or rabbits. He is very high energy and excitable, as most pups can be. He craves human interaction and wants to be with his humans. He loves all kinds of toys, especially those he can chew on or play tug-o-war with. His favourite game is playing ‘roughhousing’ like he would have with his siblings. He loves chasing anything you can throw and loves to bury his bones. Long walks, runs in off-lead parks and a large yard or acreage will help keep him out of trouble and adequate training and enrichment is a must.
SLEEPING
He will sleep all night once he is settled and comfortable. He would love to be inside but is also happy outside.
SOCIALISATION
He loves being around his humans and he can get very excited when people visit, even strangers. He has a tendency to start zooming around, jumping up, and greeting them and needs some training to interact calmly.
He loves human interaction and is very friendly when meeting other humans. He is very dog social and loves to run and play with other dogs at the dog park. We think he woulds de well with another dog to play with who is a female of med to large and loves to play
We feel that Bear will be best suited to a home with an older dog who is not too high energy but can play with him and show him the ropes. As he is very social, we are looking for a home who will keep him well socialized. Bear would love to have a permanent playmate, be it human or canine.
FOOD
He eats well morning and night. He is not a fussy eater and will eat anything that is given to him, his dry food and fresh doggy rolls (Prime 100). He likes having the odd bone for enrichment. He is not extremely food-focused but will eat when he is hungry.
MEDICAL/HYGIENE
Flash will need a regular brush and the occasional bath. He is not too keen on getting wet. His his short coat is easy to maintain. Bear has had all his vaccinations and been desexed.
TRAVEL/CAR
Bear is happy in a car and gets very excited when traveling. He will need to be properly harnessed and belted in for his safety.
IDEAL HOME:
We feel that Bear would thrive in a home with a family that is regularly home who include him in all aspects of their lives. Bear would probably prefer to be an inside dog with easy outside access, giving him the freedom to choose. He is happy to be left outside when his humans are away. His family will need to invest time in him and ensure he has daily enrichment and extended time to run and play because he can be quite active. He will need space as he loves to run so a decent yard is required. Bear is a loyal and loving companion and would love to live with a family that is active, giving him the love, attention, energy, training and enrichment that he needs.
Bear is a loveable boy who still a puppy does require some training as he can get over excited so we would be seeking a family who are dog experienced and are prepared to put some time into him
The great thing about Bear is he has a good natured temptaint and is dog social so definitely a plus for this gorgeous fella
He will require a decent size yard to play in and make a great companion for another dog who also loves to play and is well spiclased
Children in the home would need to be mature age because as we said he can be jumpy when excited
