About Mauve
Maeve is a sweet little soul who just needs a patient human that will give her time and space to settle in.
Maeve is a little pocket rocket with a big personality. She has lots of energy and will need daily exercise. She loves a spritely walk and is great on the lead.
Maeve arrived into foster care defensive and bitey. Over time she has learned that she is safe and doesn’t need to lash out. However she is still prone to biting if she’s not happy. Although she gives a warning growl first, Maeve will need a family that can read the signs when she needs some space. For this reason she should not be around children.
Maeve would prefer to be the only dog as she gets jealous of her food, toys and humans. She is happy enough meeting other dogs on a walk but in the home she does not like to share. She wants to be with you all the time and loves a cuddle on the couch.
Toilet training is a work in progress. There are still the occasional accidents inside. Maeve would benefit from having a doggy door and being trained to use it.
Maeve has small dog syndrome and has had a rough life so far. This has led to feeling like she needs to defend herself, her food and her toys. These issues are manageable, but we want you to be aware that she needs to feel safe and have her emotions respected while she learns that the humans can be trusted with her precious things.
She enjoys saying “Hi” to people while out on a walk, cuddling up to the humans on the couch and naps in a warm spot.
