About Forrest
Personality: When I feel safe and confident around those I know I'm a total extrovert. I love a good chat, a nice pat, and lots of play! Human says I'm a total Mumma's boy, because I loooove snuggling up with my mum (but that I'm also a bit of a clown and make her laugh.
Snuggle scope: I do love a bit of lap time and snuggling up with a human in bed. I also enjoy company and a relaxing massage when I’m tired and will happily accept a quick cuddle. When I'm full of beans though I'll love it if you play with me instead!
Cat scope: I love other cats!! I love my family and really need a kitty companion, preferably my sister cuz she's the awesomest!
Dog scope: They’re ok I guess, if they’re friendly and calm. The cockers at our house are nice.
Child scope: Little humans are a bit scary! I’m sure I’ll get to like them though if they’re quiet and gentle with me.
Ideal home: I would love a home where the person/s and animal/s are loving, friendly, attentive, and can ensure we are always kept safely indoors.. Most importantly though, I love my family other cats so much that I would dearly love to stay with one my sister Tilly.
Adoption Fee: Usually $200 for a young adult, but for Forrest AND his sister Tilly the total fee is $350 (total, not each).
About:
Forrest and family (including mummy Florence) were born on a local farm where they spent most of their time in horse stables. Sadly, with the property being sold, this dear little family were considered a burden to the owner of the farm and faced a terrible fate if a rescue group didn’t step forward and take them in, so of course we couldn't say no!
It might not be as obvious with Forrest as it is with his cousins, but his lovely sleek appearance is due to pedigree heritage. Whilst Mumma Florence is a calico DMH, his Daddy, a pet cat on the farm, is supposedly a Ragdoll, though from his short coat, colouring and and physical features, I suspect he's more likely Siamese mix. Forrest is an extremely vocal boy, which further lends to the theory of oriental heritage. He loves a good, animated conversation, so is best suited to someone who doesn't mind giving him attention when he asks for it!
Since entering care at about 5 weeks of age, these babies have been socialised with young children, other cats, and a pair of older Cocker Spaniels and are thus quite well rounded. Despite being born in the open spaces of a farm, Forrest and his family have adapted incredibly well to indoor life, with most expressing no desire to be outside. Forrest, though, has recently been enjoying evening walks on a harness in the back yard. He took to the harness like a duck to water, and isn't shy about letting me know when he's ready for some fresh air.
Forrest is a very special little guy with lots of personality. Unfortunately, though, he is very shy on first meeting new people, which makes meet and greets a little difficult for him. He needs a special someone who understands what it's like to be shy, and give him the patience, love & encouragement he needs to feel safe and gain his confidence in a new environment. I know his transition will be made much easier too with his sister by his side. If you can you open your heart and home to these 2 gorgeous siblings, you certainly won't regret it!
Adoption details
If Forrest sounds like the perfect kitty for you, please contact us and will send you a form to arrange a meet and greet. If the meet and greet goes well and you would like to proceed to adoption, we will send you an application and, if successful, make arrangements to deliver your new baby.
Please Note: we do not allow meet & greets and adoptions to occur on the same day. Since we want our babies to find their perfect forever homes we want to make sure you take the time to consider whether the kitty is the right one for you and vice versa.
