About Onyx
Onyx is friendly but independent, will sit on your lap and sleep in your bed but isn't a fan of being picked up. She needs to be treated like the Queen she is - being picked up will seriously damage her reputation of independence and autonomy! She will follow you around the house and loves company. She ideally needs to be an only pet as she wants all the attention to herself, with either no kids, or cat savvy kids over eight years old. She does currently go outside for short periods of time, but ideally should be kept inside for her own safety. She would love a secure cat run to keep her safe from the dangers of the outside world. She sounds a lot like her mum who is just the loveliest cat but she does like to initiate contact on her terms (like most cats), but when she does come for a pat and a smooch, there is literally nothing sweeter. She is all black like her dad owing to her Bombay heritage - Bombay's are known as "velcro cats"! Her name is Onyx, as her first owners were jewellers. Onyx stones are all black, and are believed to be a stone of protection and strength. It is a stabilising stone to help you remain grounded, and to help you find balance and peace in your life. Let Onyx be that grounding force, and she will love you in return.
She was the result of an accidental mating many years ago, while her parents were awaiting rescue after their breeder had passed away. Her mum had the litter in foster care, and shortly afterwards Onyx got her first home. She is now looking for her third and final home - this one has to be just perfect. Her parents are divine cats and she deserves to be spoilt just like they are.
**Even if you can't adopt Onyx permanently, she would be happy in a foster home too, until her forever home can be found**
