About Kylo
************** PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Kylo is 2.5 years old and is currently hanging out with our friends at RSPCA Victoria, they have asked for our help to find Kylo a perfect forever home.
Kylo is a stunning boy and many people have fallen for his good looks, he has been in multiple homes in his short life, with no-one that had taken him on being prepared to train him and look after him properly. Kylo was recently found as a stray and was not wanted back by his most recent family.
Kylo loves people and is craving attention and affection that he has been missing out on. Kylo is super confident and will approach anyone, asking for them to play and be his new best friend. Kylo adores playing with his toys and is dreaming of an active family that will play fetch, tug and chasey with him… squeaky toys are his absolute favourite!
Kylo is very attentive and focused on his people; he is food motivated, toy motivated and loves to learn new things, he would thrive attending obedience classes where he can learn new tricks and commands. Kylo knows his basic commands and wants to please his people, he is easy to engage and looks up at you with great focus as if he is saying ‘what do you want me to do next?’ With the right tools and techniques, Kylo will be a dream to train, he just needs someone to be his training partner, the potential is endless for this boy.
Kylo has been a little stressed in the shelter and will mouth and jump up when he is frustrated and unsure. Kylo has lived with older children previously, however he was too boisterous for them, and they were scared of him. Until Kylo unravels and fine-tunes his manners, he is best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 10 years old and who have experience living with a large-breed dog.
Kylo is very conflicted around other dogs and has shown a lot of frustration and lack of socialisation skills whenever he sees them. Kylo will bark, lunge and carry on when he sees another dog, he makes a big scene trying to get to them. Kylo’s reactivity seems to be frustration based, he has clearly not been exposed to other animals and he explodes because he is unsure what to do when faced with them. Kylo has shown that he needs to take meeting other dogs very slowly, he needs to learn how to walk past them nicely and see them without feeling the need to lose his cool.
Kylo has been able to be distracted away from this behaviour with the help of a squeaky toy motivator and will divert his focus back to his handler. Kylo’s new owner must have experience with reactive dogs and be dedicated to working with Kylo over a long period of time with the help of professional trainer. For now, Kylo needs to be the only pet in his new home.
Kylo is such a fun-loving boy that just wants a new best friend to spend his days with, he wants out of the shelter and into a loving forever home where he can live the active, playful lifestyle he has been dreaming of his entire life.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
