About Enoki
This new surrender is a very unique two year old Female Poodle cross Wolfhound. She is located in Brisbane but will be available to the right home Australia wide. She has a few “Special Needs” which I will outline below. She weights 35kg.
Here name is Enoki which is Japanese for “Mushroom”. This may be a good time to mention that a lot of my new adoptive parents like to change the dogs name to something they have chosen. I feel that this is absolutely fine, as in my experience, dogs adjust very quickly to a new name .As long as there is copious amounts of love, cuddles, good food and walkies they are happy as!
Enoki is all about the love. she lives for close relationship with her humans and desires above all else to be close to you. This girl is a cuddling machine, who is looking for owners that have plenty of time for serious snuggling. She will best suit an owner looking for a super affectionate companion dog that will stick to them like glue as long as they both shall live!!!!
Enoki is toilet trained, well behaved inside, travels well in the car, is good to groom and good at the Vets. She loves everything that moves including, men, women, kids and other dogs. She loves to meet other dogs at the park and will be suitable in either a single or two dog home. She is an active girl who absolutely loves her walkies.
Enoki was reluctantly surrendered due to health challenges of her owner. Here are her special needs explained:
She is allergic to all meat proteins so will need to be kept on a Vegan diet. This is not as scary as it sounds and there are a lot of vegan dog food options available. She is currently thriving on a good quality store bought Vegan biscuit.
She suffers from separation anxiety and stresses when left alone for longer than a few hours. She will need to be in a home where her humans are around a lot such as retirees who are homebodies or those who work solely from home(or can take her to work). She is great in doggie daycare or being babysat by family or friends when her owners have to go out for longer periods. She shows her anxiety by crying, licking her feet, chewing on items left on the floor.
Having a second dog in the home helps her as she loves to play, but it does not replace her need for human company. She is currently on medication to help with her anxiety and will more than likely need to remain on this long term.
Her family will need to live in a stand alone house/townhouse. She will not suit being in a “High Density” multi story apartment.
This is a superb "Fur Baby" who is looking for an exceptional owner who can provide her with the home she needs. If you are the sort of owner that makes your dog a real priority in your daily life, then Enoki wants to hear from you.
To make application ,please complete the section below titled "Application Process".

I look forward to receiving your application. Here is a description of the Adoption process after applications are received:
1. After carefully reviewing applications, I will make a shortlist of 2-3 applicants who best match the dogs needs. Only these applicants will be contacted for further information. I often receive numerous applications for any one dog(especially if it’s young and healthy) so contacting everyone is just not viable.
2. Those shortlisted applicants will then be contacted no later than two weeks from the date of application. If you have not been contacted by the two week mark, then assume that you have not been shortlisted.
3. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to provide a Vet and Grooming reference. This means that with the applicants permission I will contact their Vet and Groomer(if they have used one) to see how well they have looked after any current or past dogs.
4. I then conduct viewings with the few applicants that have excellent references to see if they like the dog and visa versa. This is usually around 1-3 potential families.
5. Once I have chosen an applicant, I conduct a “Fence Check” to ensure that the property is secure. If both parties are comfortable to proceed then adoption takes place. There is a two week trial period where adoptive parents can return the dog and receive a full refund if it doesn’t work out.
6. Dogs are adopted with the following : Current Vaccination Certificate, Sterilisation Certificate, Microchip Details.
7. My adoption process is very thorough as I am committed to finding the very best home that suits each dogs needs and quirks. Rest assured I’m doing the very best I can to make excellent decisions. If you miss out on a dog, I keep all applications in the hope that another suitable dog will become available soon.
This process may seem like over kill, but many surrendered dogs have often come from a less than ideal situation, and it’s my responsibility to do everything in my power to ensure that their future is absolutely fantastic!!!
