About Milo
Meet Milo. Chocolate-coated, caramel-dipped, long-legged male model!
This very handsome boy is approximately almost 2 year old Kelpie – and tall for his age and breed.
Milo has all the basics – he will sit, drop, stay (sort of), shake hands and come back when called – most of the time although he can get distracted. He can get distracted, at which point he becomes hard of hearing! He is very focused on livestock and very ‘enthusiastic’ when in the vicinity of chickens, other birds, pigs (especially) and sheep.
A typical kelpie in terms of his boundless energy, he loves to chase rabbits and whatever else crosses his path. He is very food-focused, so responds well to treats when ‘in training’. Milo is working on his loose leash walking and he has responded well when wearing a gentle leader. Milo is crate trained and voluntarily goes to his crate when inside at other times.
While in foster care, Milo has shared his life with two older canine residents with whom he has generally shown indifference although he can at times be mildly irritated, so would be best suited as an only dog. When food is involved, he can become very focused – to the detriment of those who have slightly better mealtime manners!
Milo will continue to need dedicated and patient training to reach his full potential. He has manners when it comes to food and will take treats gently – when told to do so. He has been good with human visitors, but his size could make him a little intimidating for very young children.
Milo is looking for a home in a rural environment with lots of space to run with a family who has experience with kelpies/working breeds. When left alone, he would need secure fencing or an escape-proof area.
If you are interested in the handsome Milo then apply now!
Milo is located in Vic...
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
