About Tilly
************** PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Tilly is 9 months old and hasn’t had the best start to her young life, she is seeking an experienced and understanding owner that can take her under their wing and help her feel safe again.
Tilly did not receive the critical socialisation she needed as a growing pup, her family found her puppy behaviours hard to control and as a result shut her outside in the backyard. The bigger and strong Tilly got, the more her family couldn’t handler her, so they stopped interacting with her as much. Tilly wasn’t taken for walks, she wasn’t socialised, just left to sit in a backyard to become a boisterous and frightened pup with no boundaries, exposure, or attention.
As a result, Tilly is now frightened and unsure in new situations.
Tilly has been in foster care for a little while now, she has been working hard on building her confidence around new people and new situations. Tilly now enjoys going for a walk and loves car rides, she is an active girl who loves going on adventures when she is given reassurance and lots of encouragement. Tilly can still be unsure when meeting new people in both the home and out and about, she would highly benefit from working with a positive reward-based trainer to help build her confidence.
Tilly is still a pup and still shows her puppy behaviours when she is excited, she does get very mouthy at times and jumps up for attention. Tilly needs an experienced owner that will give her consistent boundaries, someone who is committed to ensuring Tilly knows exactly what is expected of her and will follow through to ensure she learns acceptable manners. Tilly is not suited to a home with children under the age of 12 years. Tilly is best suited to a quiet home with a predictable routine.
Tilly is very fearful of other dogs and is very reactive to them as a result. When Tilly sees another dog, her instinct is to scare them off before they can get to her, she is extremely worried about them and will bark, lunge, and have her hackles up to make herself seem as big and scary as possible.
Right now, Tilly needs to work on learning to pass other dogs without reacting and having the confidence in her handler that they will not let anything happen to her. Tilly needs an owner who has experience with reactive dogs, she will need to work with a trainer over an extended period to overcome this reactivity, this is not a quick fix and will take lots of patience, time, and dedication.
Tilly loves to play with her humans and LOVES EVERY TOY! She is a total goofball that is very affectionate and cheeky with her humans, once you win her trust, she gives you her all her love and you get to see the amazing pup she is! Tilly has had a tough start and is working hard towards becoming the confident and well-balanced girl we know she can be. Tilly needs someone willing to help her reach her full potential, someone understanding and patient that can see the future Tilly and is prepared to work hard and put in the effort to get her where she needs to be!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
