About Rex
************** PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Rex is almost 2 years old and is looking for a fun-loving family he can go on adventures with.
Rex enthusiastically says hello to everyone he meets, jumping up to get attention, he adores everyone! Rex has not been taught a lot of manners and he thinks this is the way to say hello, when ignored he does stop jumping up. Rex will need consistent boundaries in his new home and reminding of his manners, he needs everyone in the house to be experienced with large boisterous dogs and confident in setting rules and sticking to them. Until Rex can learn some manners, he will need a home where everyone is over the age of 12 years old.
Rex hasn’t had a lot of exposure to other dogs and becomes over-aroused and over-stimulated when he first sees them. Rex will bark and lunge whilst pulling towards other dogs, he is very unsure and conflicted about how to approach and interact. With slow introductions, Rex has shown that he can calm down and walk nicely close to another dog and has shown pro-social behaviours, he has great potential to possibly be social with other dogs in the future. Rex would thrive attending obedience training where he can be exposed to and socialised with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. This will take time and dedication from his new family; this will not happen overnight. For now, Rex needs to be the only pet in his new home.
Rex is an active dog who loves to play fetch and games with his people. Rex needs plenty of exercise and needs to keep his quick mind busy. Rex would thrive going on hikes and adventures and would love to take part in daily training sessions at home so that he can learn new skills and put his brain to work… 10 minutes of training is just as stimulating as 1 hour of walking! Rex needs to be provided with mental enrichment to ensure he doesn’t get bored; kongs, snuffle mats, treat puzzles, hide and seek games are all things Rex would love to take part in to ensure he is entertained when his people are not around.
Rex is such a loving and friendly boy who has so much potential to be an incredible pet for someone willing to put in the time and effort into him. This active boy is looking for a fresh start filled with adventures, boundaries and lots of fun so that he can become the very best version of himself!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
