About Merlin
*** Thank you, we have enough adoption applications and interviews for Merlin. We should know if he has the perfect home by the end of the week, and will update his status then. ***
Merlin was born on the 4th March 2021, so I would still call him a puppy. Except without the annoying puppy habits! This boy is a loveable goofball, always ready for a game. He is a dog really made for the lovers of squishy faced, stocky pups, having been bred as a shortybull (from my research, a french bulldog cross). If you have ever dreamed of living with a pig, this is the boy for you! He snores, grunts and farts.
Merlin is smarter than he looks, and knows "sit" "shake" is house trained, is well behaved and loves car trips and walks well on a lead. He absolutely loves the company of other dogs, and if there is only one minor fault I would note, it is that he loves everyone whether or not they love him back. However, even the grumpy dogs that thought they'd rather be left alone, somehow seem sucked into his relentless demands of play. As such, I've never seen him properly told off, so he continues to go through life with the expectation that everyone is his best friend. He has previously lived with a rabbit and a parrot, and I haven't seen any prey drive in him on the farm. The resident scardy cat, is not afraid of Merlin, and I think that says a lot about him.
Outside, he jumps and plays and absolutely exhausts himself and everyone else, however he does have an off switch, and he's more than happy sleeping indoors. Given the awful weather we've had, he doesn't even object to sleeping inside the whole day. He loves his food and isn't fussy. He has no storm phobias, in fact nothing scares him really. He's not a barker, and I've never heard him whine. He's more than happy welcoming guests with body wiggles, and not by being noisy.
Merlin would really suit such a wide range of homes! He just wants company, so the one important factor in his new life, is finding either someone who works from home, or someone with another dog. Merlin is a wiggly, squishy bundle of love!
