Hi, my name is Jazz, sadly I desperately need a new home, I’m in foster care but they are going on a holiday so I need to find a new home by the 4th September.
I came into SRV’s care a few weeks ago in very bad condition, I went straight to the vet and then into foster care with a wonderful family who are treating me really well.
I was approx. 10 kilos overweight when I was picked up and I’m still a bit porky 😊 I had a very bad flea infestation which had caused skin infections but I’m fine now, my health check was good apart from my skin problems. I’m allergic to fleas. I lived with a cat which was how I caught the fleas, so I can’t risk living with another cat, if you saw the photos when I arrived at the vet you would understand the reason why.
I’m not a pure-bred Stafford, I’m a Stafford X. SRV don’t usually take on mixed breeds but because I was in desperate need of medical attention, they kindly helped save me, with thanks to a special lady who contacted them.
I’ve lived with young children from 1 to 10 years old and I’m very good with them, I’m a gentle girl, I love to play and cuddle, enjoy car rides, I know how to sit but wont stay, I pull badly on the lead and because of my strength I need someone who is strong enough to handle me and who also has knowledge with training dogs. I’ve never lived with another dog or been socialised with them, this is something my new owners need to work on. I don’t appear to be aggressive, but I do get excited when I see another dog and because of my strength it could cause an altercation which is why you need to train me.
I am still on a strict diet, I need to be taken for a couple of walks a day to help me loose weight. Obedience training is a must for me, not only for my new owners to gain leadership skills but for me to learn not to pull on the lead or get over excited with I see other dogs, some dogs could take my excitement level the wrong way which could lead to an issue.
So, if you think you can offer me a good forever home where you’ll be able to give me all the above in return, I will give you all the love and loyalty you could ask for!
