About Zane
************** PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Zane is 5 years old and is looking for a special family to give him a forever home of his very own.
Zane loves meeting new people, especially when they have treats! Zane does get a little over-excited to begin with when saying hello but is soon keen to show off what a good boy he is and will perform all of his tricks and skills for a treat! Zane is a big boy and often doesn’t realise his own size, he is best suited to a home where everyone is over the age of 8 years old.
Zane is very clever… too clever at times! This cheeky boy loves to learn and is extremely food motivated, Zane has learned all of the tricks in the book including playing dead. Zane loves participating in training sessions and learning new things, he has a quick mind and would do well with daily training sessions at home to keep him stimulated. Zane needs to be provided with plenty of mental enrichment, he does like to get into mischief and will go looking for something fun to eat when he is bored. Kongs, treat puzzles, snuffle mats and other enrichment toys will prove a big hit with Zane.
Zane is living with hip dysplasia and will be joining our “Forever Foster” program. This means we will search for a forever family for Zane who will provide him the love and care he needs, whilst GSRV supports and manages his hip dysplasia. Zane is currently medically managed with Cartrophen injections to keep him comfortable.
Zane still gets around well and enjoys his walks; he is still very active and loves to play and zoom around the house and yard. Zane mostly walks nicely on the lead without pulling and ignores other dogs at a distance. When other dogs come up close to Zane, he becomes very overwhelmed and unsure and will lash out when he is feeling uncomfortable. Zane has been ok meeting some dogs but others he just does not like, he particularly doesn't like small fluffy dogs and is best kept away from other animals for now.
Zane has always been an inside dog; he is used to sleeping inside with his humans and being included in daily family life. Zane must be allowed inside at his new home, a big comfy dog bed by the window will keep him happy! Zane is a very goofy, cheeky boy who oozes personality, he loves spending time with his people hanging out and will form a strong bond with his handler. Being provided with consistent boundaries, mental stimulation and lots of love, Zane will make the most loyal and fun companion you could ever hope for!

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000
Puppies (4 to 6 months) - $800
Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
Mature (1 year to 6 years) - $600
Senior (7 years plus) - $350
