About Sappho
Meet Sappho! This lady is incredibly curious and always keen to try something new. She plays with all toys and loves expanding her food pallet. Sappho is very smart and will work away at foraging puzzles for hours. Her happy hisses make everyone smile!
While not tame, Sappho is very interested in people and always comes up to say hello when you stand near the cage. She’d love to continue to grow her confidence around people.
Her plastic foragers and paper boxes to tear up are amongst her favourite things in life. You can treat Sappho with a piece of corn, followed by mango, which she likes to grip on her foot and gnaw on. She also likes ringing bells (under supervision) and making noise in general.
Sappho is a big hisser - not to worry, hissing is a sign of happiness or that they’re hungry and want breaky.
A typical day includes breakfast at 8 AM, water changes, and spot cleaning. Sappho enjoys her 5-10 minutes training sessions throughout the day and practises her musical talents with you. She usually takes a bath after her second water change in the afternoon. Sappho needs 12-15 hours of sleep daily, so the lights go out at 7 PM.
This colourful lady hasn’t interacted with kiddos. She’s interested in other birds in the house, budgies and another lorikeet, but hesitant to come out of her cage to meet them. She’s strictly not allowed around dogs, cats etc.
Are you musically inclined and can teach Sappho a note or two? Sappho would love to meet you and practice for her next performance together.
Medical notes
Sappho isn’t the biggest fan of cage covers and has previously clipped her wings leading to crash lands and being unbalanced.
Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s owner - the person who knows them best!
It’s a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
From here, the owner will be in touch with you to chat a bit more about their pet, and if they feel your home is the best fit, they will arrange a ‘meet and greet’ for you all to get to know each other.
Should this prove successful, arrangements will be made for the pet to move straight from its current home into yours upon payment of the adoption fee.
The adoption fee is paid directly to PetRescue (via a secure payment link), and assists us to continue to run and develop programs to assist pet owners, just like Home2Home.
Change of Ownership paperwork will be completed, vetwork history will be provided and your new family member will be snuggled on your couch in no time!
