About Rose
The stunning Rose is now seeking her forever home
This beautiful sweet pup is a 10 week old Kelpie x we think Staghound with a stunning soft fluffy coat and her weight is approx 8 kilos so we feel she will be a tallish med girl at full height
Rose has been living with her biological brother Axel, resident Kelpie Blaze and resident cat Lily.
Rose is energetic, quirky, cute, funny, cuddly, playful, a sweetie and an entertainer to say the least . Rose is very well behaved and will fit beautifully into any family willing to put time and effort into her happiness!
Rose has had some experience in travelling in the car and does well sitting on the back seat harnessed in. She requires a reassuring pat but other than this is no trouble at all.
Rose has been sleeping with her brother Axel in the crate at night and makes no fuss at all. Recently with her brother being happily adopted she has been in the crate alone and has done extremely well sleeping right through the night. If the crate is available, she will also seek this out during the day for a snooze. Rose is a real chatter box in the morning asking where her breakfast is and with howling yawns to start her day!
Rose has done well with toileting and is able to take herself in and out of the house to ensure she does the right thing.
Rose just lives and breathes mealtimes! She is at your heals as you are prepare meals and will take hold of anything âfoodâ, so owners must be careful what they leave around as it wont last long. Rose is eating savour life grain free puppy food morning and night with a small amount of prime at night just being introduced and is a champion eater. Rose enjoys a snack in the morning, either a biscuit, little piece of cheese or some roast chicken, just be careful to avoid her excited little teeth as we are still learning to be gentle. We have been using these treats to encourage Rose to sit and we are seeing some improvement in this area. We have been using a puzzle tray for Rose to eat in a bid to slow down her puppy guzzling and have seen improvement in this!
Rose has begun to venture out on a lead and although a little tentative and scared, she has down well following the lead of her big foster brother.
Rose will most definitely need enrichment through toys, walks, socialisation, interaction with others, both canine and human. Rose will be best suited to a home with another older dog who can continue to show her how its done, however this older dog will need to be patient and energetic to keep up with her puppy energy. Another dog is also needed to keep Rose company and keep her calm when humans are not at home. In foster, Rose has had access indoors and outdoors at all times and is home alone for only a few hours at a time. If locked outside Rose being just a puppy does become anxious and will whimper and scratch on the door. She will need reinforced reward training to change this behaviour if being left home alone, however we do not encourage anyone to apply who will be away from home for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Rose is interested in cats but shows no aggression towards resident cats.
Rose will flourish in a home with children. Please be mindful however that she is still learning and can nip when playing and these tiny little teeth do hurt! Also, Rose still being so young needs her down time and rest periods and children will need to understand when she heads to her crate/sleep area, she is to be left to rest and not disturbed.
Rose needs an energetic family who will include her in all aspects of their life at home and outside. She will need regular exercise and enrichment. As she gets older, secure fencing will be required to keep her safe as with all dogs. She will need a family who has another dog (older male) who will teach, play and keep her company and will need a family who is not out of the house leaving her alone for long periods of time. Puppy training will be most advantageous as she learns and grows.
Rose is a beautifully loving puppy who will melt your heart in an instant and will give back love and affection ten-fold!
Decent size backyard with grass for her to run and play on, secure fences and shelter is a must
- Ongoing puppy school to help further her training and for socialisation
-Daily walks are a must (shorts walks while she is still a puppy)
-If you have a dog they must be male. The current resident dog must be of a temperament that can adapt to puppy development, and she must be well socialised with other dogs (do not apply if your dog has not been socialised recently)
-New family must understand that puppies take time to settle and all things puppy, including crying, chewing and training is a must.)
- Milan must be able to sleep inside
