About Kaya
Are you an active retiree looking for a devoted canine companion?
Then please meet KAYA, a very sweet-tempered and affectionate dog of mixed breed born around April 2018. She's a petite girl with beautiful brown eyes and a doggie smile that would melt the hardest of hearts. She weighs 17 kgs.
Mild-mannered and super clever, Kaya loves human company and, although affectionate and cuddly, she's definitely not needy. In fact, she's a self-confident dog with an independent streak.
She is great with kids, even the littlies, and is very gentle with her foster dad's four year old grandson.
She's good with all sorts of dogs and currently lives with a large female, who's her best buddy. When she's out and about with her foster family, she'll happily mix with other dogs, but often prefers just to hang out with her humans.
Kaya loves car rides and the beach. Like most dogs, she's a creature of habit and enjoys (and needs) a good walk in the morning, following which she'll settle for the day. She walks so well on a lead that her foster dad says it's as if she was born to it.
She has a very low-shedding, easy-care coat. She's quiet and rarely barks.
Kaya is almost perfect, but not quite. No fence will keep her in, so if her family goes out, she needs to be secured inside the home or in the garage or an outside enclosure. Otherwise, her independent streak kicks in and she goes for a wander around the neighbourhood.
Preference will be given to a home where someone is around nearly all the time and wants a constant canine companion.
Her adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you are interested in meeting Kaya, please complete the online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and ensure that you include photos of your yard and fencing.
She lives in Brisbane.
