About Missy
Please meet MISSY, a sweet-natured, affectionate and intelligent Staffy/Labrador mix born around 15 December 2019. She weighs about 24 kgs.
In simple terms, when inside Missy is a lounge lizard and a homebody. All she wants in life is a comfy couch and her family around her.
Her foster mum says Missy’s more cat than dog, so it's probably unsurprising that she's cat-friendly.
She lives in a foster home with four other dogs and loves to run around in the backyard and do zoomies and play with her toys. Her favourite is a rope tug toy if the other dog will play tug of war with her.
She is very food driven and will even give up snoozing on the couch for a treat and is eager to please to get her treat.
Missy is very gentle with children, even little ones, and has been known to prevent a toddler climbing a dangerous set of stairs by standing in the way. She’s had pups herself so knows about looking after the young. Check out the video where she's being so gentle with a mouthy pup.
Missy is happy to sleep in a crate or a dog bed. She's totally house-trained; is not destructive; is not food aggressive; and has quickly learnt to wait her turn for food and treats.
She is a gentle, undemanding and relaxed dog. She asks permission for a cuddle and is definitely not one of those dogs that jumps on the couch and demands attention.
Missy’s big thing is that she prefers not to leave her home turf unless it’s in the car. She loves car rides but gets very anxious going for walks on the lead and is best left at home where she’s content and feels safe.
