About Nala
*In foster care in Mascot, Sydney*
Nala is a sweet, solid red cattle dog with a sunny disposition and that signature working dog need for speed.
Nala has been in foster care with a fabulous trainer who has taught her a whole bunch of cool stuff but most importantly how to be a confident, cool, calm and collected dog. She has mastered the basics, is crate trained and has no separation anxiety, she does love hanging with her border collie foster sisters and going on daily adventures.
Nala is on the right track to being a certified good girl but a family that will continue to invest in her training is important, she can be a bit of an attention seeker at times and this requires some management but trust and believe that she the loveliest of ladies.
Like all Maggie's pets, Nala is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I love being outdoors so a home with a yard would be ideal.
As a young puppy who loves people, I can get a bit over-excited so I need a home that continues teaching me calmer manners and carries on the training my dog trainer foster carer has started.
I have learnt good leash manners and no longer pull and lunge like I first did, but I am still a young puppy and need daily reinforcement for this so I don't go back to my old ways.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I'm an active working breed so will need both physical and mental stimulation on a daily basis. I learn things fast and have already been doing some basic obedience, tricks, agility and nose work. I love agility and would make a great agility dog! I am a very fast runner! I also love to fetch.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I get along with children but can jump when excited, so I need a family who can manage this and continue to train me not to jump on people. I am probably best suited to kids 8 and up.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I am scared of cats, I haven't been around them much but I have a very fast recovery time from fear and could calmly walk past a cat outside within just 10 minutes. I haven't reacted to cats since.
I love my foster sister border collies and spend my days playing with my foster sister Leeloo. I would love a playful dog sibling! My much calmer foster sister Sansa doesn't really enjoy my playfulness so I would definitely need a playful dog sister/brother so there's less management required. I am good at leaving Sansa alone though.
I was fear reactive to dogs first but thanks to my trainer foster carer have now learnt not to react to other dogs, only bigger/tense dogs staring at me can still scare me or over-aroused dogs who push their company on me.
When meeting other dogs I am very sweet and gentle and have met many different types of dogs by now. I can also fully focus on you when in a training class and training around other dogs, I do not get distracted!

Adoption details
We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
