About Rusty
Meet Rusty!
This small fellow is a 6-year-old long-haired Collie who loves to get out and play ball, tug-of-war and chase the hose!
Rusy has come to us with some behavioral quirks which are mostly typical of a Collie, but some a little less so. It's for this reason we're looking for an amazing foster carer to gain his trust and reintroduce him to a loving home life.
Rusty's ideal carer would be:
- Someone who is perceptive to canine body language. Rusty is a lover, not a fighter, but his vocal behaviour needs to be respected.
- Someone who has previous experience with Collies or 'cats with an attitude' - he isn’t afraid to tell someone if he likes or dislikes something and will take a while to warm up to you.
- Someone who is willing to put time into structured training and stimulation.
Rusty's ideal home would be:
- 1-2 humans at home, with limited visitors in the short term. Rusty will potentially bond to and be wary of anyone other than 'his' human.
- Enough space to separate Rusty from any less understanding children or visitors.
- No other pets for the time being, so Rusty can hog all the attention!
Prospective foster carers will gain access to a support network of animal-loving volunteers, our behaviorists, with all vet expenses covered and access to donated food!
