About Licorice
Ready for an adventure? Licorice is!
This girl is up for anything and is a true adventure companion who loves outdoor activities. She is more than happy to adapt to new experiences and go new places. Licorice is an energetic and playful dog. If she isn’t out on an adventure, she is playing with toys or with her foster sibling. But once all the activities are over, she is more than happy to chill out at home and loves a good snuggle session on the couch. Licorice is a very affectionate and loving dog - something she has probably inherited from her mother who was a pure golden retriever. Everyone that meets her falls in love with her and her beautiful nature. This girl is keen to make everyone her new bestie and laps up all the pats and cuddles that are offered to her. Licorice meets many of her fans when out and about in the inner west area. She does very well in the busier environments and will settle quietly next to her foster carers at the local café while they enjoy their morning coffee. She truly is a wonderful companion dog.
Very social with other dogs and is currently living with another similarly sized female dog. They get on like a house on fire and have some fantastic games of chasings and tug of war. Next minute, they are curled up in a bed asleep together. She can live with another medium or large sized dog who is young enough to enjoy playing with her. Otherwise, she would be fine to live as an only dog if someone is home more often than not and is able to provide her with a sufficient amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation.
Licorice is more than just a pretty face! She is super smart and thrives off training and learning activities. Her current carers are very proactive with her training and mental stimulation which has seen her go from strength to strength. She can already sit, drop, paw/shake, touch and is working on stay, place, leave it and look. Licorice is toilet trained and crate trained where she sleeps throughout the night without a peep. She travels well in the car which is perfect for going on those adventures. She generally walks well on the lead but can pull when excited. In the home, her foster carers are still working on some cheeky counter surfing behaviour – she is definitely food motivated! Her new owners should be strongly committed to continuing her training on a daily basis and providing mentally enriching activities. Licorice shows the potential to engage in dog sports such as obedience trialling, dock diving, nose works or agility.
We are looking for a home with experienced and proactive owners who are into their outdoor activities and committed to giving Licorice a fulfilled life. She will need a home where her owners are home more often than not so that they can meet her needs both physically and mentally. She will need a home with a yard (so no units), will need to be allowed inside to be with the family and must sleep inside at night. She can still be a bit jumpy and mouthy when excited, so is best suited to an adult only home, or one with dog savvy children. Licorice is ready and rearing to go on your next adventure with you and will fill that empty spot on the couch in the evenings. She is an exceptional dog that deserves an equally exceptional home.
If you think that you can offer Licorice the home she deserves, then please complete a Dog Adoption Enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the first step. Please include plenty of detail about the type of lifestyle and home you can offer Licorice in your application.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
