About Sadie
Hi, Sadie here! I’m a young gal who’s SO EXCITED to meet my new family.
I’ve been in the shelter for four months, and I’m well and truly ready to find a new loving home.
I’m a playful gal with a wiggly bum who adores attention and snuggling up with my humans. I’m exuberant and full of beans, but I still love a snooze on the couch at the end of the day!
I’d really love to live my dream active lifestyle with my new family.. I’m picturing daily walks, trips to the park or beach and playtime in the backyard. Because I have soo much energy, I’d need to have it redirected elsewhere, or even have an important job of my own to do. A human with experience with dogs like me would be ideal.
I’m super intelligent (if I don’t say so myself) and would love lots of mental stimulation and toys in my new home. I’m also very food motivated which will help with the ongoing training I need. I’m looking for a loving and patient home that can help me be the best doggo I can be in all aspects of life as I haven’t received this previously.
I'm learning to hang out with other dogs while I'm at the shelter and I do prefer quiet dogs who don't annoy me too much. I'm not aggressive with dogs but do try and nip at them and try to 'round them up'.
I’d love to live with an active family either on a property or with a backyard with secure fencing. I’m looking for a home with no small animals as I like to chase them, and I’m told they don’t appreciate that. Because I can be bouncy and mouthy, I'd also need no small kids in my new home so I don’t accidentally bop them over.
I’ve become so much braver since I’ve been at the shelter! Taking me on fun adventures where I can meet new people and dogs will help me so much with my socialisation.
I need some help in these areas:
• I will require full basic training as I've had no training experience yet
• Unsure in new situations - more socialising is needed
• I love my food & toys so using them as a positive reward should make my training easier.
• I can be bouncy but training should stop this
• I've only just learnt to walk on the lead since being at the shelter so I'm still a bit erratic but lots of walks will help me learn how to be great on the lead.
• I appear to have issues with resource guarding when it comes to my food. I will need
some training to help fix and to get rid of this behaviour. With commitment and time, we
will be able to work on this together
Could you be my new best friend?
Sadie is a special dog that requires someone experienced in training working dogs and/or willing to work with a professional trainer, she needs to be working or have her energy directed elsewhere - she is only young and highly trainable.
Please call the shelter on 4429 3410 for more information regarding her behaviour.
