About Gilbert
This little collection of eyeballs and elbows is Gilbert. He's nearly four years old, and he needs our help to find him a pawfect forever home!
Gilbert (or to his friends, Gilbo Baggins) is ready for the adventure of a lifetime, to find his happily ever after. But unfortunately this quest will have obstacles that first he must overcome.
Surrendered to one of our shelter partners after an injury ended his time on track, Gilbert presented with a mystery wound on his leg that over the last few months has refused to heal. It would appear that after having a plate and screws put in to help a bone break, the surgical site healed poorly and has developed MRSP (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Pseudintermedius). He has a road to recovery ahead of him, but he's a stoic boy who is taking it all in stride, and having joined us in foster care he is responding to medication and healing well.
Gilbert will be seeking a very special forever home in Melbourne:
- Until he returns a clear swab, he must be the only dog in the home (no canine visitors or any prolonged close contact with other dogs during his treatment)
- His human/s won't be out of the home for FT hours, and willing to commit to clinic visits, and providing lots of love and care to this smoochy sweet boy.
If you would like to help Gilbo Baggins on his unexpected journey, let us know at foster@amazinggreys.com.au
