About Herbie
Herbie is a delightful Labrador born 2nd December 2014.
Herbie is a sweet man who loves nothing more than spending time with people. Considering his size he is still surprisingly agile and can get a bit boisterous and jumpy at times, so a home with older children would be beneficial for him so he can’t accidentally knock little ones over.
This handsome fella is quite overweight and weighs over 50kg. He will need an owner who is willing to resist his puppy eyes and keep him on a strict diet with some added exercises to get his weight back under control.
Herbie seemed unsure when we introduced him to another dog at the facility and appeared to hide behind the handler. Due to this reaction we are recommending he be the only dog at home.
Herbie showed no interest in cats or pocket pets. He may be fine with them in a home environment, but as we only allow them to meet through a barrier we cannot be certain what he would be like if he were to see them running around.
Herbie seems to be ok to be left alone, but is starting to stress a little in the kennel environment and barks when he sees the staff walking around when he is in his kennel. We believe that in a comfortable and loving home, he will settle down, however there may be the potential for some mild anxiety when he is left at home alone for long periods of time.
Herbie is such a loving man and wants nothing more than a home he can call his own and not have to worry about losing another family.
If you think you could be that furever family for Herbie, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Herbie’s adoption fee is $600, and this includes his desexing, vaccinations and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Herbie is currently located in East Maitland.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
