Exuberant snuggle bug extraordinaire
Meet Windy, a divinely smoochy 13 week old female kelpie x rottweiler who is determined to win
the hearts of all the humans she meets. She currently lives with her 9yo foster dog brother, 2 cats
and her humans. This wee girl is an absolute snuggle bug and loves nothing more than launching
herself in for an unexpected kiss and to snag a snooze next to the nearest warm body – cat, dog or
human, Windy isn’t fussy, so long as she gets some love. As an added bonus, Windy is not a nippy
pup, preferring to lick (and lick and lick). Her favourite target is an unsuspecting ear, so she would be
well suited to a family with dog savvy, well supervised children. Dog confident cats would be a great
addition to Windy’s desired family. She does love to bark at her resident cats if they ignore her but
usually just tries to kiss them if she can corner them.
Windy is a very smart girl. She is learning to sit for her food (which she is TOTALLY obsessed with)
and bring toys back to her humans when they are thrown. She knows that she isn’t allowed to eat
food from other animal’s bowls and is improving all the time at resisting the temptation to sneak just
a quick taste test of cat food if the laundry door is left open.
Windy adores company, and therefore will not do well as an only dog who is left at home frequently.
She must live with a puppy friendly companion dog who will tolerate her playful nature and help
Windy learn how to be a dog. The only exception to this may be a family that is home most of the
time, and that is also willing to commit to socialising Windy daily to fulfil her social needs. We do not
want her to become a sad puppy without dog stimulation. Windy, like all young pups, will need
formal dog obedience training to allow her to grow into a well socialised, well-rounded dog.
Windy is crate trained and sleeps through the night, often asking to go out for a 6am wee and poo
before snoozing again until breakfast. She loves to chew hard toys, preferring them to soft ones, and
has been known to “assist” with the gardening if she becomes bored outside. She also has a current
obsession with phone charger cables, so her new family will need to be aware that none are left
within reach. This has been an expensive lesson for her foster family, so please take heed of this
warning.
