Hi, my name is Hector. Sadly, I need a new home though no fault of my own. My original owner passed away and my current owners job changed, and he is now out of the home for 12 hours a day which I can’t cope with, as no doubt you would know Stafford’s need our humans around a lot.
I’m a beautiful little pedigree boy, I love other dogs, I’ve lived with other dogs before and when my grandma looks after me, I stay with 3 dogs, 2 of which are fluffy dogs 😊 and one is a cattle dog.
I’m good on the lead, I don’t get let off leash at the park because I might not come back with recall.
I was good with my body being touched although a bit hand shy around my head area, so you would need to teach me not to fear my head being touched. I’m not scared of loud noises or storms, the startle test with the loud whistle and umbrella scared me a bit though. I love all toys and will play tug of war, I don’t have a release word but love food so you could teach me how to learn to release. I was good with my food bowl test, I sat until told OK to eat and the bowl was removed twice and given back to me without any resource guarding issues. I take food very gently from hands, I love the car, I know how to sit, come when my name is called but my owners wouldn’t risk letting me off leash at a park, I know the commands, leave it, on your bed, gentle, sit and stay. But I don’t like cats!
I met some lovely people when I was getting assessed and for my photo shoot and they all loved me very much. So, I’m very much hoping that I can find a loving forever home very soon.
