About Bert & Bloom - Mixed Breed Bonded Pair (Trial)
Are you looking for love in your life? Fun and games, lots of kisses and cuddles? Then Bert and Bloom are the pair for you!
They are funny, affectionate and very entertaining!
Bert and Bloom are mixed breed large dogs around 3-4 years old, that are searching for a special home and a family of their own to love. This quirky pair came into care as strays, so not much is known about their past, but what we do know is that they adore each other's company and are a well-matched couple.
Bloom (tan colour) is the most confident and ready to give you all her love! She will affectionately put her head on your lap and gaze lovingly into your eyes, giving you the best snuggles. She loves all toys and backyard zoomies and is the more attention seeking of the two.
Bert (white and brown) is a little more independent and loves his treat puzzles and belly rubs. Bert can be shy and fearful of new people but takes comfort and gains confidence from Bloom's presence and watching her interact with you. Bert takes time to be comfortable with people, so will need to be in a home that is understanding of his need for space and time to get to know you, and one that is willing to properly introduce him to new people in the home and allow him time to settle. Once he comes out of his shell, he is a goofball who enjoys walks and a good sun-bake in the yard.
Their ideal home is on a property, or a big backyard that can cater for their zoomies and regular play. If you are looking for some company while you hang out next to the fire pit on a Saturday night, and are happy to spend some time playing fetch and mucking around in the backyard, then these two could be a great fit. They are medium energy dogs, that will need exercise and stimulation. A daily walk would be ideal, but they do entertain themselves with play together while you are out, and love treat puzzles and toys. Once their daily walk or play is done, they are happy to relax and enjoy lazing in the backyard together.
Bert and Bloom are good with children, but parents would need to be understanding that little ones could accidentally be knocked over as they are big dogs. Both are strong on the lead, so will need confident handlers, and we recommend walking them using halti's for less pulling.
Bert and Bloom are mostly outside dogs that are happy to entertain themselves and are not escape artists, but solid 5ft minimum fencing would be required (mesh or chain fencing would not be suitable).
They sleep both inside and outside, although predominantly live outside. They do love to come inside, which would be great for them to feel included, but are mostly happy in their own space in the yard during the day and to join you of an evening in the warmth. Neither are prone to excessive barking, but will alert you if someone is at the front door or gate.
Bert and Bloom are happy and playful dogs, that would do well with a routine to help them feel settled and loved.
Their adoption fee is $700 for both and they are in foster care at Cameron Park. Both are desexed, up to date with vaccinations, flea and worming and their coats are low maintenance.
