About Walter
Meeting Walter for the first time you instantly see the huge amount of love he wants to share with you!
He LOVES his walks through town, in the bush and around the lake, tail wagging the whole time and loves to meet every human! Even with those little legs he will certainly set the pace!
This beautiful boy loves to play a bit of fetch with his ball or plush toy, and given he is a gentleman, he will drop it when told. He also loves a good brush to give him a nice shiny coat and will give you plenty of kisses as a thank you. When he goes for a drive he likes to vocally say hello to people as we drive by with his deep 'manly' bark.
Walter is great during the day when his foster mum is at work, and when she is home he will stay in the room with her or sit on his bed to watch her cook dinner. He is house-trained and will go stand near the back door when he is wanting to go out for the toilet. Walter does not guard his food with humans, however, he doesn't like it if his foster-cat-sibling comes right up to the bowl (picture shown of him eating while the cat is close drinking water with no issues).
Walter currently lives with a cat in his foster home and adores her, always checks on her and runs around with her in the house. He has met a couple of dogs on his walks for a quick hello, however the dog park was a little too high energy for him. He will be having a slow introduction with another foster dog late August to determine his view on having a doggy sibling. (At this stage if you have a resident dog we will need to do slow introductions first).
His perfect home....
. A place with yummy food and treats...because food is Walters favourite!
. Someone who loves a daily walk or two and who is happy to have a few stops to smell everything!
. A home where someone is there as often as possible to share love and affection with him
. Family who won't jump on him or have a home with big steps...his little legs can't reach!
. A home where he can have access to the indoors for most of the day, especially in the colder months
Medical notes
Walter had his check up early August with no major concerns. Teeth are great for his age and general well-being is good.
Given he's an older gentleman he has some lipoma's (fatty lumps) which are common in older dogs and arthritis in his legs which doesn't seem to be holding him back from running around or getting into the car.
