About Marley
Hi Everybody
I am MARLEY, 4.5 yo female 49kg Mastiff cross (I dont know what cross maybe Bull Arab).
Yes I am as goofy and loving and smart and gorgeous as my pictures.
I have been waiting for my forever humans for 3 months. . I came in sad because where I came from I was isolated outside , not walked, attacked by a dog , fed on dirty bowls, no bedding . I became overweight and just sad.
Prior to this I was dumped to a pound and left there until my time was due and they were about to euthanise me because no one was coming to rescue me.
Unfortunately my size has become the reason why people overlooked me. I'm sure I'm not the biggest dog in the world!
Some human adopters met me but they then cancelled on me because I am too big they said.
Tails of The Forgotten Paws has given me a new lease in life, I'm now very happy girl at my foster family home. A mum, a dad and a super chill 8yo mastiff x dog.
Oh don't let my size fool you , I'm so gentle with people and other smaller well behaved dogs.
I live indoor with access to the backyard to do toilet. I can use the dog door.
Yes I help out around the house too. I don't run around inside the house cause thats just not cool.
My foster parents work from home so I sleep or wait with them in the home office . I am also happy to chill and wait for them to come back from running errands etc. I don't have separation anxiety
When they can take me with them - I would travel in the car with them. I love my car rides.
I sleep on my bed , no fuss, I wait inside calmly whenever my humans go out for dinner etc where they can't take Me with them.
I walk well on leash.
True to my breed , I'm loyal to my family and Im a guard dog at home. I bark when I see strangers outside my home but I've learned quickly to listen to my foster mum/dad cue so I don't worry so much.
Because I've never received good leadership from my prev humans I am now learning that I actually don't have to worry about that. My foster humans are great at giving me clear directions so I get to relax more
There is something about possums , rabbits and small animals that really annoys me so if I see them I'll try my best to chase them / catch them, scare them away. Apparently it's a part of my breed I can't help it. I heard I'm not the only dog that does this - some other dogs also do this!
But I never jump off the fence , it's too high for me . I'm not a jumper.
The only time I jump is to go into the car for an adventure
I get walked twice a day, I do walk nicely on leash. I prefer nice walk with my humans than being put into a dog park with lots of dogs running around me. Dog park makes me feel anxious.
I wait for my food I don't bench surf cause that's just bad manner.
I also love running around the back & front yard whenever I feel playful
But I'm mostly chill and pretty laid back.
Oh did I tell you, I need to keep my weight loss journey going , another 4 kg would be best according to the vet. Other than that, I am a healthy pony. So if you can help me reach my weight goal that would make me really happy.
The last thing I want is to get into trouble with my vet.
I eat a combination of balanced lean cooked meal, raw bones and premium kibbles grain free and low fat. And also healthy natural treats.
So yeah, overall I'm pretty easy going lady on the lookout for a family that will include me as a part of the team.
I've spent enough time being left alone isolated and neglected prior to arriving at my Foster's home. It was horrible I was so scared and confused .
I'm looking for a family that understand my breed and love big dog to lounge with.
If you love large dog that's loyal, a gentle giant , easy going, well behaved, good with dog savy kids good with well behaved dogs , don't mind me chasing possums every now and then, take me along your adventures when they allow dogs like me , love me forever and unconditionally - Then I'd love to meet you !
Xo
MARLEY
