About Lola
************** PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Lola is 2.5 years old and is currently with our friends at RSPCA Victoria, whilst they are taking great care of Lola, she is not coping in the shelter environment and wants to get out ASAP!
Lola has lots of built-up energy to burn, she is a cheeky girl who loves to run around and do zoomies in open spaces and play with her humans. Lola is very food motivated and enjoys working for treats, she needs to work on her impulse control when over-excited, training and making her work for treats helps Lola to focus and calm down. Lola gets just as tired by a good training session than she does physical exercise, she needs to keep her quick mind working and would thrive working on obedience with her new owner and learning some new skills.
Lola hasn’t been exposed much to the outside world and as a result she is unsure of everything around her when she is first introduced to it, including new people. Lola’s fear is in the form of ‘stranger danger’ when faced with someone new, she is very unsure and will bark at them – with slow introductions and lots of positive reinforcement, Lola makes friends easily and is then happy to interact, especially when treats are on offer.
Lola’s new owner needs to have experience with German Shepherds and particularly dogs that are reactive, Lola has shown to have great potential for rehabilitation and is keen to learn, she is a project dog for someone willing to put in the time and effort into teaching her and helping to build her confidence.
When over-stimulated, Lola can still become mouthy and will jump up, she needs an adult only home where everyone has experience with managing a young, boisterous dog. Lola would ideally have someone home often; she loves being with her people!
Lola is very conflicted around other dogs; in the shelter she has shown some positive behaviours towards large breed males but has also been concerned and very reactive towards other dogs. Lola hasn’t yet interacted with other dogs up close, from what has been observed, she is a little socially awkward and forward with others, she will need to work on her doggy manners so that she can learn how to appropriately greet others. For now, she is best suited as the only dog in her new home and is not suited to a home with cats or other small pets.
Lola loves to play and is a huge goofball, playing chase, tug and fetch are all her favourite games and according to Lola, training sessions are the best things ever! Once playtime is over, Lola loves nothing more than hanging out by her human’s side and falling asleep at your feet. Lola is very affectionate with those she trusts most and will lean into you for more cuddles.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000

Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
