About Alaska & Oreo
*In foster care in Waterloo 2017*
OREO is a sweet, friendly, gentle, playful kitten. He loves food, playing with his sister Alaska and cuddling with his foster carer.
ALASKA is an independent, curious, confident, playful kitten. She loves playing with her brother Oreo racing around the house, and climbing the cat tower.
OREO when not playing with his sibling he loves to follow his foster carer around and cuddling on the couch at night or in bed in the morning. He is definitely interested in what is going on outdoors and likes to sit on the cat tower or the screen door keeping an eye on what is going on. He loves playing with a soft woollen ball and can often be seen running around with one in his mouth.
ALASKA loves to cuddle beside her foster carer on the couch at night, to sleep under a blanket or on the bed under the covers, or on her foster carers legs. While she loves strokes and chin scratches she doesn't like being held - although she often purrs when she is picked up! A little reserved at first Alaska soon warms up to new people and will happily accept strokes. Alaska is all white except for a cute smudge of Grey on her head. Alaska has had some eye ulcers when younger that are likely caused by feline herpes virus. These are easily treated and she is a healthy kitten, although the eye ulcers possibly may reoccur at times as it isn't curable. Although possibly contagious to other vats, Oreo has not shown any signs and it is not transferrable to humans.
My ideal home: One with room for 2!
My energy level: Typical kitten energy. Oreo & Alaska love to race around in the morning and can make a game from any piece of paper or stray leaf. In the evening we like to snooze beside my foster carer on the couch before some more play in the evening.
My suitability to children: we haven't met any children. Oreo is more confident and can be stroked by calm children, however Alaska can take a little longer to warm up and would be a better match for primary age children or older who would understand that I don't like being picked up and held.
My suitability to other cats or dogs; we haven't met any dogs but could maybe be ok with a calm one.
Medical notes
Alaska has has some eye ulcers that are likely caused by feline herpes virus. After treatment, Alaska has no issues with her eyes currently. From time to time, she may have symptoms recur as herpes virus is not curable. When symptomatic, Alaska may be able to pass the virus onto other cats.
