About Holly ~ Ridgeback X Puppy(On trial 10/8/22)
Introducing Holly, super intelligent, adorable, confident little lady who wants nothing more than to be with you, her favourite person! Holly is an absolutely gorgeous 10- week-old ridgeback x boxer (Rhodesian Boxer).
Holly is a playful, loving and very smart little lady. She loves her human foster siblings and is great with the cats and her little chihuahua playmate. She is very friendly and loves nothing more than to snuggle up for a cuddle. She would very much love a home with another dog or kids to keep her company with regular outings to the dog park or beaches.
Did I mention she’s smart? This clever little girl is already mastering her basic commands after only days with her foster family. Her toilet training is coming along really well and her delight in being handed puppy biscuits as a reward will ensure she picks up many new tricks to impress you with. She is still very young, and we recommend puppy training or committed ongoing training to ensure these basics blossom into amazing manners as she gets older. She will be a medium to large dog and will require a home that will exercise her daily and provide activities that stimulate her curiosity and active nature. This gorgeous girl will be the most amazing loyal and loving life companion.
Holly is super loving and will take all of the cuddles you will give her. She loves to snuggle with the kids on the couch. For this reason, we are searching for a home that will allow her to be inside and outside. She will not suit being an only outdoor dog and has been enjoying the comforts of indoor lifestyle. Holly is learning to sleep in her crate at night and settles well as long as people are around.
Hollys perfect forever home would include:
- A nice big yard with at least 6ft fencing (colourbond or similar) with no small holes or gaps
- Children 5 years and over. Being young and active, Holly might be too much for little ones as she grows to her full size.
- A family, couple, or single who are active, outdoorsy and understand the requirements of having an active dog in the home.
- A nice warm place inside to sit with you at night and a cosy place for her crate near her people for her to sleep in
Holly will grow into quite a large dog, so please consider your circumstances both now and in the long term and do some research on what is involved in caring for, living with and training large dogs prior to submitting an application. Training is critical for Holly to grow into the best dog she can be. As a larger breed, the consequences of behavioural issues are bigger so you will need to commit to puppy training and ongoing socialisation and training using positive reinforcement to ensure they don’t develop.
Holly is a very responsive pup who is eager to please and easy to reward. Holly would love a home where she is not left alone too much so she doesn’t get lonely and stressed. Ideally her owner would be home most of the time and she would love a friendly adult dog as a teacher and playmate. She will need to be welcomed as a member of the family, with access to indoors and a big secure yard to run around in. She will need regular walks for exercise and mental stimulation.
For more information regarding this beautiful and intelligent little lady, please contact her foster carer at hopkija1011@gmail.com. Holly is in foster care in the Central Coast, NSW. Holly’s adoption fee is $700.00 and covers her desexing and second vaccination. She has had her first vaccination and has been microchipped and treated for fleas and worms.
As Holly is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to residents of Newcastle, Hunter Valley, Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, and Port Stephens because she will need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she is five or six months old.
