About Kevin
Meet Kevin!
This gorgeous senior Kelpie boy is looking for a kind and loving home to spend his retirement years in. He is a lovely, happy, cheeky, funny, affectionate old fella. He enthusiastically greets everyone he meets with a friendly 'woof' and a waggy tail.
Although he gets along well with all other dogs, he would prefer a home with an older, calmer dog (or two) providing companionship rather than playtime. He would also suit a solo dog lifestyle as long as his humans were around more often than not.
Big Kev looooves his food and will promptly let you know if he thinks a meal has not been prepared on time! Couch cuddles and belly rubs are a favorite pastime. He also loves a bit of a potter around the garden, especially if his human is also out there pottering with him, or just a lazy snooze in the sun.
Kevin requires a home that will allow him to live indoors with his humans. He is quite happy in his crate or big snuggly dog bed, but always keen to jump up on the couch with you as well! He has also been living with a cat in foster care with no issues and just a mild curiosity!
Kevin is an old dog who without doubt has had a rough life. His adopters need to be committed to the ongoing and possible increasing costs of a senior dog. On arrival into foster care he was treated for severe mange, ear and eye infections and had a few small lumps removed (all benign). He has recovered from all of this and has a new lease on life. Kev also has hip dysplasia in his right hip which is not unusual for a dog of his age and life. It is managed with daily doses of Neurontin and ensuring only very moderate exercise is undertaken, and if he pulls up sore, Meloxicam to be administered as needed, as well as Antinol as a daily joint supplement. The cost of maintaining this is currently about $30/week.
**Kevin is located in VIC.....
Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
