Hi friends, I'm Pumba!
I was given away by my owners and ended up in a council pound. While not much of my history is known, it is pretty clear that they weren't too worried about my health as I was not microchipped or desexed- I even had fleas and worms. I was very scared in the pound but quickly made friends with the other dogs there and the lovely humans who came in with food and lots of pats! I am fully grown at 29kg.
The journey out of the pound and into safety was a long one, but I was very excited to meet my carers on the other end! It took me a few days to realise this place is safe, but I fit in pretty quickly then. It's happy, it's loving, and I can be free here. I love belly rubs, pats and hanging with my humans. I love to play with them, and the other dogs here! I live with a large breed male dog and he's my best buddy, and also 2 medium breeds who are kinda bossy but I get along with them. I've also met cats here, and am learning to be respectful but I'm a little too eager right now to be left unsupervised with them.
I love the company of my human and dog friends. While my humans are away from home, I hang out in the yard with the other dogs. I am medium energy, so we like to play chasies and then nap in the sun. I LOVE to play with my chew toys (the Tuffy toys and Jolly branded puncture-proof balls are great!) and a rotation of them every couple days stops me getting bored. I sleep through the night outside on the deck with the other dogs.
I am working on my leash skills (a short leash works best as then I walk beside you!), and would like (as any dog would!) to get out of the yard a few times a week to run, sniff and roll in the outside world. I also like car rides and travel well! My stumpy lil tail is adorable and so is my happy face; if you help me settle in and trust you, you'll see for yourself that I am a great dog and a loyal friend.
I'd love to have a 4ft fence or higher and have a committed, loving owner- and in return I'll give you all the love and loyalty you could ever wish for!

If you apply to adopt but require us to hold the pet more than 3 days before meeting, we will ask you for a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the pet, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters. If you follow through with adoption after your meet, the $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the pet. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you place a $100 holding fee on the animal- the day you collect the pet you will sign an adoption contract and pay the remaining $350 fee.
All animals are adopted out with vaccinations up to date; any vaccinations due from date of adoption are the ethical and financial responsibility of the adopter. During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must notify OTC, and present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic we direct you to in your area. OTC will cover any treatment needed at our authorised clinics.
Ready to roll? Then fill out the application form, and we will be in contact to successful applicants asap. Feel free to follow us up via Facebook page inbox. (www.facebook.com/offthechaink9)
