About Chopper
Introducing Chopper a super handsome Staffy x Kelpie born 27th January 2022.
Chopper & his brother Tank came to us as strays. While we would love nothing more than to rehome them as a bonded pair, we believe they would be best suited to finding them their own homes. If the right family does come forward, we would consider reuniting them.
Both of these boys are sweet young men who love nothing more than spending time with people. They are currently in foster care with small children and are very gentle with them.
We would recommend a home without pocket pets or cats as Chopper does have quite high prey drive. While he is co-existing with a cat in his foster home he is under constant supervision and training when in their presence.
Chopper is very playful and happy with other dogs, both large & small adults and puppies. If you have another friendly, playful dog already in the family, please remember to bring them along with you for a meet and greet to ensure everyone gets along fine before heading home to live together.
Chopper walks quite well on lead and shows no signs of food aggression towards humans.
Both boys seem to be ok to be left alone as long as they have another dog as company.
As Chopper & Tank have been in each others company their whole lives and they are both now living as part of a large pack, they are both quite dependent on other dogs. Because of this they will need to have another active & playful dog at home that doesn't mind some rough playing. Unfortunately they wouldn't be suitable to live with older dogs or small dogs as they wouldn't match their play style/needs.
Being a Staffy x Kelpie he is quite high energy and will need a minimum of a daily walk. He has recently found a love for dock diving and swimming.
Chopper is such a loving young man who wants nothing more than a home he can call his own and not have to worry about losing another family. Chopper is such a special boy who will love his person/s with every inch of his being. He's not simply looking for and owner but a guardian/shepherd in life. Someone who will guide and protect him through all the things he needs to live his best life. Training, socialisation, exercise, commitment, love & safety.
If you think you could be that furever family for Chopper, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272.
Chopper's adoption fee is $600 & this includes his desexing, vaccinations and lifetime registration. He is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Chopper is currently in foster care at Jilliby.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
