About Zoe
Zoe is a bight and intelligent girl. She likes to be a part of everything going on. She is young and can get quite excitable but relaxes like a pro when its quite time. Zoe dotes on her humans and her big brother, another foster greyhound.
Zoe’s BIG thing in life is cuddles and affection. She can think of nothing better than scooching up with you on the couch to watch a movie. Zoe also loves sneaking an opportunistic hug and tummy scratch when you sit trying to put your shoes on.
Zoe can also be a cheeky little minx and will make the most of any opportunity raid the bins or to finish your dinner if you get up to answer the phone.
On her walks, Zoe insists on greeting everyone with her beaming smile. Walks are all about enjoying her neighbourhood as much as exercise.
Zoe had a serious injury on the racetrack. This was not treated well and when she came into foster care she had a couple of surgeries to try and rectify the problem. Zoe has lost two toes on her foot and will need careful management from her owner. Her exercise will be limited to one walk each day and she may require ongoing pain management. Luckily Zoe at only 25 kg is quite light as she will need to be part lifted into the car. She won’t manage many stairs and a home with lots of carpet or rugs is best for when she does her zoomies.
Zoe is great with other dogs. She will need a home where her humans are home more often than not.
Zoe has a beaming smile that brightens your day and very expressive ears, alert for any opportunity to engage with you for a cuddle…… or steal your sandwich.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
